There is only one rule in medicine that "there is no rule".

Nice to see you are now at full term pregnancy. Its advice that you visit doctor every weeks atleast 2 times, doc.checks whether the baby has started decending. With just pelvic examination and when baby start to decent they will check PV (per vaginal ) checking to see the time of labor.

i wish i wasnt checked that early with joseph, i was like a fingertip to 1cm dilated lol. Here they checked at practically every appt wich i dont think is a wise idea. She never really told me when i was dilated until near the end. I wouldnt get overly excited about being checked though id personally rather not. because then you might feel a little let down if ur not dilated at all, even though that doesnt mean squat u can go into labor at any time or moment regaurdless.

my advice would be not to have them check you or, if they do, not to tell you the results. it's just super frustrating either way.

you could be 2cm and then you'll get all excited that you're 2cm and start to think it could be any day now, then end up going over.

or you could be nothing, then get upset because nothing seems to be happening.

my doctor wasn't going to check me until my 40 week appointment, but i asked her to check when she was doing my group b test at 38 weeks (i think) so she did. it was a big fat nothing! i'd been on bed rest for weeks, i had high bp, signs of pre-e, i was just done being pregnant, then to hear i hadn't made any progress yet just pushed me over the edge. if i wasn't having a c-section with my next one, i wouldn't want to know any of it.

I agree with .b!

I only got checked once. I was 36 weeks. I Had my baby like 3 days later and I was "only a fingertip dialated".

Just tell them to keep the results of your cervix to themselves.

They might also do the group b strep test.(if they haven't already)
