Will Medical Pot Use Lead to Legalization of the Drug? Posted: 06-12-07 04:04am
Will legalization of the medical use of
marijuana bring about the entire
legalization of cannabis?

Well, there are many things that are legal
medically but not recreationally, so I
think the line for cannabis could be
maintained too.

I don't think so because pot is such a
squared off drug, relatively.

The answer is.. it should. Why? Well,
because right now there is an alternative
to medical marijuana. When the government
will get off the back of hemp/marijuana
supporters and do their paper work it very
well could become legal. If its available
for patients, it should be available to
the public. Not only does marijuana help
for medicinal purposes, it can also be
pleasureable. It would be silly to only
legalize it, for one exclusive purpose.
First step is to study further, and
educate people on Marjuana. Right now I
personally consider it equally or less
harmfull than tobacco. Most people who
smoke marijuana does not experiance the
dangerous substances used to create the
filter of a cigerette. The filter of a
cigerette is suppost to keep you safe, but
if you inhale a singed cigerette filter it
can be very dangerous.
People need to realize this, and most
importantly that Marijuana is NOT a
gateway drug. If you ask me, alcohol is
the "gateway drug". Alcohol is easier to
start at an early age, and it is easier to
slip in a few drinks than it is to roll a
joint and not let mom and dad smell smoke.
Alcohol truely makes us do stupid
things.
I have a friend, who was recently hooked
on crack because he got drunk. He drank
since he was 13, and always hated smoke.
If people think marijuana is evil, then
they should reconsider their drinking
habbit because marijuana can be treated
and regulated in the same manner as
alcohol.
Also, with the rising concern of global
warming, envrionmentalism may possibly
bring back hemp. I atleast want to see
hemp legallized everywhere. Comparing
hemp to marijuana, is like comparing a log
to coffee beans. Peoples lack of
knowledge, is what makes even hemp taboo,
and results in killing more trees than we
really need to.

I hope so. Alcohol was illegal at one time
and so was woman right to vote along with
lots of other silly laws...one day, maybe
not soon, but I do believe one day it will
be legal and I think it should. By the
way, there is a hemp store where I live
and I use hemp bags to carry my
groceries...
