Prenatal Vitamins
Posted: 06-13-07 11:23am

I was wondering, becuase I don't know if I eat well enough if it's ok for me to take two prenatal vitamins? Before I had told my parents and I had found out from a home pregnancy test I bought a bottle of them at Walgreens. Once my parents found out, I went to a doctor and they gave me a perscription to take them. I have only been taking one, but I just wanna be better safe then sorry so I wanted to know if I can take both the one from Walgreens and the Perscription, or would that be too much vitamins to take in since the prenatal is such a strong one that taking another one would hurt me or the baby?

everything you need should be in your prenatal. too much of some of the stuff in vitamins is bad.

You should only take the vitamins that your doctor prescribed you. That should have plenty of everything that you need.

If it will make you feel better, you can always call your doctor and ask them. That's what they're there for.

When my doctor prescribed me with my prenatal vitamins, he told me to stop taking my regular multivitamin. The prenatal's have enough of everything in them that you do not need to supplement with an extra one. If you are still worried, call your doctor and get his/her opinion. You can also try eating a healthier diet too.

Do NOT take two prenetal vitamins at a time! That is EXTREMELY unhealthy for you AND the baby. Look on the back of the bottle and take one when it says, don't go under or over that line.

To much iron... and I'm pretty sure other vitamins/minerals will hurt your child... I'm positive about the iron though. Just take the Dr.'s prescription! I think it is great you are trying to do everything you can for your baby though. and congratulations!
