So for the first time you would usually start using the pill (ortho tri cyclen lo) after you have your period but my period skipped in june (it does that once in a while), but I started the pill a few days ago anyway. my boyfriend is coming to town around the 9th of july. That would be right around the time I start my second pack. So I guess my question is, should i be ok or should we still use condoms

You are protected after using the pill for 7 full days. AFTER this you are protected, and you would be protected. The 7 'days' rule does not count for every pack, only the first.
