i know this isn't the right forum for this
but im really upset and just need
comforting words from my friends on this
part of the forum.
my mom came home and told me that she
might have skin cancer and that she goes
to the doctor tomorrow to find out. shes
had a spot on her leg for a really long
time and i looked up skin cancer pictures
and it looks just exactly like the spot on
her leg.
i might just be stressing myself out right
now, it might not even be true... she
might not have it, it might just be a
spot, but shes my mom and i'm really
worried. its taking all i have right now
to not sit here and cry infront of her.
sorry, im just stressed out.

don't apologize! my mom found a lump in
her breast many years ago and i was
seriously freaked out. i know how
stressful it is!
now i might be pulling this out of my
butt, but i *think* skin cancer is easily
treatable in most cases. it could be
nothing, but even if it's not they'll
probably just remove the spot and lots of
times that's the end of it. try not to
stress! at least you don't have to wonder
long and you'll find out tomorrow.
give us an update as soon as you know!
i'll be thinking of you for sure!!

awww terra it will be ok maybe when she
goes it will be the non canceouse kind (
sorry can not spell today ) that could be
possible and at least she is doing the
right thing and getting it checked out
asap please keep us posted ok she will be

Awww hun, I'm sorry.
I know I flipped when my mom told me she
had cancer. But, It'll be ok. They'll run
a bunch of tests. It may not be anything.
So try not to panic until you know whats
going on. Are you going with her?

thanks ladies  i know life is
never easy but it just seems like lately
it's all been so crazy and rough. im glad
i have you guys!
and good question, im going to go ask now
if she wants me to go with her, i'm sure
she would want me to.. i just don't know
if she'd be able to leave from one ofher
jobs early to come pick me up so that i
could go.
***i may have misunderstood her, she said
she's going to the doctor tomorrow to find
out what it is, i don't know if they'll be
able to tell her if it is skin
cancer tomorrow.*** i hope so. but the
nurses told her that it looks like it and
it does. im a worry wart. shes my mom
 of course i am.

my grandpa has skin cancer.. and he's
fine.... all they will do is burn it off
probably thats what they do to his..

thanks guys i looked it up
online and read about it some more and
read that its not as bad as I
thought. of course it's not good, but i
think i read that less than 1 percent die
from it or something, it's just scary
because nobody wants to hear that their
mom has any form of cancer lol but thanks
for replying i'll let you know
how it goes.

I love you, .Terra!
My dad and both of his parents (my
grandparents) all had spots of skin
cancer. They all had to be burned off and
removed. It really is scary! I try to
avoid the sun more than ever now in large
doses. The good thing about most kinds of
skin cancer is that they're so treatable.

thanks katie and laura! i love you too!!!
well my mom went to the doctor today and
they said that its not melinoma (not sure
how to spell that) so that means it's not
deadly right?
she said that they're going to see how
deep it is and see where they have to
remove it, and then they're going to send
it off to be tested. (so i was wrong, she
didn't find out what it was today)
thanks for being here for me, i was
freaking out and still am, just the word
cancer being associated with my mother
gives me a reason to freak out  so i'll let you
know when she gets the tests back whats
going on
and by the way, im talking to my boyfriend
