i'm currently 21-wk's [as of tomorrow].
and i wanted to test out music on the
belly.
i was wondering, how loud is too loud? and
can loud music really cause any fetal
problems? i'm using headphones, and
tucking them into the top of my pants, to
keep 'em in place.
she seems to like it, she's finally calmed
down a bit.

did it calm him down? or did he move
more?
i'm actually finding this to be really
interesting. i'm looking it up online, but
haven't found much, so i thought to ask
here.
i have an iPod, too. right now i'm just
doing it off the computer. i placed the
volume to the half-way mark. it's louder
than what i normally listen at, but it's
still okay on my ears. so i figure
.Joleigh will be comfortable with the
noise level.
it's funny. right before i put the
headphones on my belly, she was kicking me
all over the place. as soon as the music
started, she's calmed down a whole lot.
now i feel little kicks here & there.
i just took them off, a second ago, &
she started acting up again!

it's neat, isn't it?
finn would go from not moving to kicking
like crazy. i like to think he liked it
and was dancing but maybe he was actually
scared and flailing about. lol!
my husband wanted me to stick to classical
but i played other stuff just to
experiment and switch things up. he moved
a lot with the classical but sometimes i
would put on that matisyahu beatboxing
song and he would go *nuts*.
what are you playing?

i plan on mixing it up, too. everybody has
been telling me to stick with classical
because it's calming or it'll make them
smart. i'm a fan of classical music, but i
want my kiddo to listen to a bunch of
different things. today i tried baz
luhrmann: the sunscreen song. [if you have
never heard of it, i highly urge you to
download the song; it is so honest &
inspirational]. it's not anything crazy.
actually, it's the speech of a college
teacher with background music. but as soon
as i placed the headphones on my belly,
.Joleigh stopped kicking around. i really
think she stopped to listen. after the
song played for a couple of seconds, i
would feel light kicks here & there.
and then, when i removed them completely,
she started acting up again. maybe his
voice was soothing to her, idk? it was
really cool. i'm going to try it again
tomorrow, but this time i'm going to
introduce another song, maybe some pop or
.R.&.B. i'm keeping it all PG-rated,
no vulgar stuff.
.P.S. your son it so, so adorable! i look
at everybody's baby picture posts often.
Finn is beautiful, such a handsome little
guy. he seems like a very happy baby.
