My mother made me put headphones on my
belly and put my music on random. She said
"the first song he kicks to is his theme
song for life" so i put it on... and did
it away
Song 1: Britney spears "Toxic" (thank god,
no kicking)
Song 2: Marilyn Manson "the beautiful
people" (i was hoping, but nope)
Song 3: Bowling for soup "girl all the bad
guys want" (not yet)
Song 4: Toby Keith "Whiskey Girl" (He
kicked!!! Apparently he's just like his
father with the whiskey and taste in
girls)
so i figure, why don't you guys try it and
see what happens... it probably doesn't
actually work.. but it's fun to think you
can see into the future lol

i have to agree with you on the britney
spears thing.
"phew"
my baby likes classical music and my bad
singing equally so i don't know what that
means.
that's a cute idea though, the theme song.
I should give that a try.

That's pretty funny! I haven't really
thought about it until now.
We have been visiting a few churches and
my son actually kicks to hymnals (yawn). I
can't stand hymnals! Most are not even
upbeat. He doesn't kick to classic rock,
classical music, top 40 hits, rap (had to
try it) or my singing... ha ha. He did
kick to a few country songs. He kicks the
most when I am reading my other son books
and vary a lot in intonation.
I am going to experiment more just to
see!! What an interesting idea!! I will
get back to you on this.

Cute. You may have a musical baby!!
Mine doesn't dance to the upbeat
contemporary songs that I love, only
hymnals. I can't figure it out.

i was just sitting here playing solitaire
and singing along with the playlist on my
computer. i sang along to a led zeppelin
song, then one by simon and garfunkel and
then one by the wailin' jennys (their
cover of neil young's "old man"). on the
wailin' jennys song the baby started going
nutso lol. it made me think of this post
so i thought i would resurrect it. the
baby was kicking so hard it made me giggle
cuz it was tickling me. now i'm listening
to tori amos and the baby is starting to
calm down (yeah i'm old and so is my taste
in music lol). it makes me wonder what i
did when my mom would sing when i was in
her tummy. she was a hippy folk singer
and i still listen to the songs she sang
to us when we were kids.
