Difference Between a Brazilian & Bikini Wax?
Posted: 06-14-07 13:38pm

Hi. What's the difference between the brazilian and the bikini wax?

I gave myself a waxing at home about 2 months ago, and this time I'd like to go to a salon. Hopefully it'll hurt less!

I would like to get it all waxed off in the front. But, I don't want the bum area done. Do I book an appt. for a brazilian or a bikini wax?

Thank you!

A Brazilian bikini wax removes hair from the entire pubic region and the area by your buttocks. The waxer leaves a small, optional patch of hair above the vaginal area.

A bikini wax, I think, just removes the hair just outside your vaginal region. I read that you can ask for a full bikini wax, which would remove most of the hair on your vaginal region. That sounds like a good option for you. Once you find a salon you like, .I would call them up and ask what they offer and how they can accommodate you.

I agree. I suggest just telling them exactly what you want, even if you don't know their term for it, that way there's no confusion! I am sure you would not be the first person to just describe what you want. Smile

Waxing really isn't that painful... I personally like how my skin tingles after the strips are ripped off. I don't know. Maybe I'm slightly masochistic Wink

When you shave, it will grow back within a day, you'll already feel stubble. When you wax, you shouldn't feel stubble for two weeks, so it sounds like your experience was typical.

Thanks everyone. I called the place and they said that what I want is called a "L.A" wax. I'm nervous now, but I'm sure it'll hurt less than when I did it myself. It also helps that I booked a back massage for right after, it will be something to look forward to, haha.

I would say just go for it. The waxing was very painful when I did it at home myself, but that was because the wax wouldn't rip off all at once, it would only come off in tiny bits. And I didn't pull it off in the right direction. I had no idea what I was doing!

I'm sure at a salon it'll be a quick sharp pain but after a few minutes it'll be okay. I just don't like the idea of a stranger down there, but I'm sure they do alot of waxing, and they've probably seen as much as a gyno.

I'll let you know how it goes.
