Q: Belly Size vs Baby Size

Right so up until last week and since I was about 18 weeks I've had a baby bump but not hard and round, just flabby baby bump lol. This last week it has gone really hard, higher up and rounder but its massive. I really honestly think i look 36-37 weeks not 26-27 weeks gone. Does the size of your belly have much to do with the size of your baby?? I'm scared she's gunna be mahoosive.

aw can we see some pics?

no your belly size does not always mean you will have a big baby as some women carry alot of fluid Wink

i know at some point the baby will lift out of your pelvis because it is getting too big to rest in there and that's when you tend to get a rounder belly. now is supposed to be the most comfortable time in your pregnancy because many women are done with morning sickness and the baby has lifted off of your bladder but it still isn't big enough to be pushing on your diaphragm or causing a lot of heartburn. so, if that's you, i'd say enjoy it while it lasts. It can also depend on the position of your baby. There are days that I look smaller than other days, and I am almost 31 weeks. You could possibly be carrying a lot of fluids too, which will make you look bigger. If you are really concerned though, you can always call your doctor or bring it up at your next appointment.

I was *gigantic*!!!! I gave birth at 37wks3days and my baba was only 6lbs8oz.

so, no, it doesn't mean you'll have a huge baba!

Here's a pic of me at 35 weeks!

Shocked

Sarah, great picture. It looks as if the baby in your belly is saying, "Hi ya'll!" Very cute!

Lauren, post some pictures to give us a visual!!

Aww thanks everyone, I would post pics and have been dying to for ages but I've lost the CD to dowload on my computer to transfer pictures from my phone to my computer. Crying or Very sad I have to order a new CD but its £30 and I'm short for cash. I'll see if a friend can take some and upload them on her computer and send them to me so I can show you all. Thanks for all your advice, guess I'm being kinda naive and shallow but I'm just scared she'll be massive, it'll hurt like crazy and that I'll never get my figure back. Crying or Very sad
