I will now blow you all away...

20. I was 20 when I first had sex Razz

Then again boys thought I was "too weird" when I was in highschool, and I honestly had no desire to have sex with any of them. Heck, I didn't even want to date most of them, because they were stupid.

Okay, my turn for a question:

Were all of you kids ready for sex when you had it? This includes:
1. Did you know about birth control, how to use it, and how effective it is?
2. Did you know how you could become pregnant/impregnate someone?
3. Did you have a plan in case this happened?
4. Did you know about std protection?
5. Did you know girls should start getting pap smears once they are sexually active? They often can't get birth control without a pap once they are sexually active, or over the age of 18. I couldn't because I was over 18.

I don't want to sound preachy; I'm actually interested to know how well sex education is working these days.

1. Yes i went onto the pill as soon as me and my boyfriend decided to have sex and then waited untill i'd finished the first month of it before having sex, unfortunatly i had very bad reactions to the pill so after a few months we started to use condoms instead.
2. Yes.
3. Because neither of us would want to have an abortion or give the child up for adoption we always said that if it was to happen (which it has) that we would keep the child.
4. Yes, there is a great school nurse at my school who used to be a midwife so is obviously well educated in that field. i'd also had conversations with my mum about safe sex.
5. yes i knew that you should go for these when you're sexually active, although in the uk you don't need to get one in order to get birth control.

And to some it up i was just coming up to my 15th birthday when i had sex for the first time

I was 16. Yes, I believe I was ready. My school had a wonderful sex ed program.

1. Yes. We had speakers come in from Planned Parenthood when I was in high school. I started getting my paps and was on Depo when I was 16.
2. Yes.
3. Nothing concrete. We certainly would have talked about it if I did get pregnant though. My mother is open and supportive.
4. Yes
5. Yes.

Honestly, I think all kids should know all that stuff long before they have sex. Sadly, some schools seem to have really awful sex ed programs.

I was nineteen.

Yes to the above. Used depo provera and condoms, my plan was abortion, and I had paps. My knowledge had nothing to do with my small, midwestern town upraising-it had to do with the advent of the internet and my parents' utter incompetence with using it. heh

1. I did know about birth control but did not use it with my him. I didn't get on the pill till I started to see my current boyfriend. I have been with him for 2 years so when we decided to go all the way we talked about the birth control and thought it was the best option.
2. Yes I did know how I could become pregnant and I was constantly worried about it.
3. A plan... not really, I was young. I was worried about it but didn't think that it would happen to me.
4. I did know about STD's but didn't really think it was that big a deal b/c it was both of oues first time. But then I worried about it after I found out he cheat on me with a skanky ho. lol
5.I had a pap, and thanks to the college that I go to they offer free birth control. They give you 14 packs when you go in.

I was 15, nearly 16. I was ready for it, we'd been together about 5 months so I don't think we rushed, experimented a bit beforehand but maybe some of the reasons I used to justify it could have been a bit wrong, i.e. I wanted to shut my friend up cuz she was the only one that had done it and kept bragging.
1. I was on the pill and had been for a couple months, I actually asked my mam if I could go on it just in case. I only got to know more about actual bc when visiting the docs, so it kind of educated me about everything else as well.
2. yeh i did know it, but also knew how effective the pill was and I took it when i woke up every morning so it was arund about the same time. I know there's still a possibility but it's so small.
3. well no, because I would never expect it and we used condoms as well as the pill
4. we used condoms but no chance of stds really cuz we had never slept with anyone else
5. I was told that I needed smear tests every 2 years and the hospital just sort of makes the appointments for you, so I vaguely knew it lol.

Thanks to everyone who answered ^^ Suppose I should too.

Yes, I knew about birth control and used condoms from day one and then went onto pills
I knew about my body, etc.
I had a plan of "abort no matter what!" but that's changed now to adoption out to a gay couple Wink
I knew about std's, thus the condom.
And I actually had to get a pap smear before I even got onto pills the first time.
