alittle over a week ago my boss called me
into their office for a meeting. The VP's
decided to change my job/hours/
compensation. Split my shift between 2
people (6 hrs each). The only problem is
that I am going to loose money in hours/
overtime and since i will be working less
than 32 hours a week I will loose my
benefits. If I stay then I don't have to
worry about getting fired and will qualify
for FMLA leave, but if I got a new job
then i would probably not qualify for
maternity leave.
some people at my office know that i am
pregnant while others do not. I am not
sure if they are changing things because
of my pregnancy or if they really want to
have a receptionist on hand 12 hours a day
instead of 10 hours a day.
The worst is they have not posted the job
yet. But, i was informed to either take my
last 2 days of Paid time off or i would
recieve payment for them in a check. I'm
just a little frustrated.

How far are you? If you have a ways to go
in your pregnancy, I would be very upset
about losing the benefits. Do you have
other options. I would be a little
frustrated as well.

i'm only 8 weeks. I have insurance thru my
DH company and have had since we were
married, but you can never have too much
insurnace. it is becoming more of a
principle thing to me. I am not going to
leave and give up FMLA, but they can't
fire me because I am way too good at my
job. (my only saving
grace at the moment)
I am looking forward to the cut in the
hours. Getting out at 1pm makes scheduling
appointments much easier.

Great about the health insurance through
your DH company. I hope it's good. You
are right, you can never have too much. At
the same time, less hours would be so
nice. The farther you are, the better it
will be to work less. Getting out at 1:00
pm sounds perfect!!
