My mother is about to have a total
hysterectomy of her double womb-due to
several problems over the last year, since
she found out she had two wombs.
She is having everything removed and her
overies.
This is due to take place next month.
She is very scared about the operation
suckers does not know what to expect due
to the abnormality. I cannot find someone
that has been through the same operation,
or find much information about this
procedure. Is it as straight foward as a
normal hysterectomy??
Please could you tell me or advise me of
the procedure, complications etc suckers
needs to know as peace of mind of what to
expect.
Yes, a double womb hysterectomy is as
straight forward as a normal hysterectomy;
your mother's double-womb uterus will be
removed in a same way as normal uterus.
Ovaries and oviducts will be removed
because she is in menopause and doesn’t
need her ovaries any more. The risks
associated with this operation are the
same as during any other abdominal
operation. You can consult her doctor and
ask more in-depth questions about the
possible complications of the procedure.
