Okay, so I took a pregnancy test
yesterday. I waited for the lines to show
up. They showed up and it said negative.
Today I found it in the garbage and it
showed up positive. Is it possible that
after a 24 hour period the dyes would show
up or something?

Yes, it is possible that after 24 hours
that the dyes would show up. This would
happen regardless of the accurate results.
This is called an evaporation line. When
the fluid has evaporated from the strip it
will leave behind a mark where the
antibodies are on the strip (where you
would see a second line). that is why
the
results are only valid in the time frame
written in the directions any
result that you get after the time limit
(normally 10 min) is invalid. You have to
get a second line within
the time frame for it to be considered a
positive test.
Your test is negative.
If you have doubts about this being
correct you can test again in a week.
