Treatment for edema & skin pain after severe Sunburn Posted: 06-20-07 21:02pm
i have a really bad sunburn on my legs and
my right leg is getting 3+ edema. the
pain is a 7. Ive tried soaking in cold
water, ice packs and ibuprophen. I don't
want to go to the Doctors office or the
emergency room. What else can I do to
help the edema and pain?

If you are experiencing only redness and
edema without blisters (also considered a
I degree combustion) there is nothing you
can do but apply a cold compress on the
sunburns take temporary painkillers
(aspirin, ketoprofen, ibuprofen…) and
lot of liquids. If there are blisters
present (II degree combustion) you should
ask for medical help because blisters
should be surgically treated.
