Q: Discoloration and liquid in sperm caused by stress or medica
asked by: DoctorQuestion on June 21st, 2007
Lately, I noticed my sperm is yellow, and liquidish. and the amount ejected is quite small. The weird part is I haven't been active for quite some time. what do think is the cause of this.
P.S.: I am under a lot of stress lately. work and college and barely have enough time to take a break. I don't know if this is relevant.

The amount of sperm present during one ejaculation after 5 days of abstinence should be between 2 and 6 ml. Sperm change can be due to the anti acne-medication you have been taking (Roaccutane). Roaccutane is a highly teratogenic medicine that kills the cells used during spermatogenesis, the creation of sperm. Stress can also contribute to the condition. Yellow sperm could indicate an infection but that can be proven only with sperm analyses (spermogram). You may wait to request such an examination from a urologist until you finish taking the Roaccutane.
