Work Shmerk

i have to work tonight and i really don't want to.

i haven't seen nick since he went to bed last night, i have to leave the minute he gets home tonight, then i'll get home just as he's going to bed.

not to mention, finn's not feeling well and it makes me feel bad that i won't be here to take care of him and i'll miss his bedtime routine.

aww it'll be okay! you'll be so glad when you see your old friends again! i know i always dread going into work but then when i'm there i'm totally fine. just think that finns daddy will be there to take care of him this time and when you get home from work you can sit down and cuddle up with them both Smile& you'll get money out of the deal!

well, sunday was ok because i was working with my old friends. tonight i'm working with someone i've never met before and i'm shy around new people. it's just going to be the two of us so i hope she's friendly and chatty!

and there will be no cuddling when i get home, finn will have been in bed for hours and nick might already be in bed or staying up just long enough to see me.

it is easy money though, and i make a good amount considering it's just retail.

I know how that is. My husband worked second shift for a year. By the time I got home from work, he would already be gone. When he came home from work, I would be sleeping. The only time we got were the weekends. I'm so glad he is back to day shift.

yeah, i work sundays 10-5 and thursdays 5:30-9. i guess i shouldn't complain because that's all i have to work, and after summer i'll only have to work sundays.

i'm just having a hard time because i just started back on sunday and i'd never been away from finn before that.

work rots, plain and simple. I make very good money for my area, and .I really do love my job, but if .I didn't have to work to pay house payments, insurance, etc .I wouldn't.

I agree!! I would love to be a sahm after my baby is born. But it takes my paycheck and my husbands to pay the bills and feed us. Maybe when our kids are older, I can be a stay at home grandma!!!!!

That's what my mom did. Well actually she stayed home until my brother started school, then retired when I got pregnant and she babysits Ava for me to work.

Bridget, that's why I hate when Jesse works nights. We see each other for an hour a day and when I work, it's 15 minutes or less a day.
Have fun tonight even though.

oy.

i got to work and everyone was all "briiiiidget! what are you doing here? where's finn?", and i was all "well, i didn't think it would be appropriate to bring him to work with me..."

yeah, apparently my boss forgot that he asked me to work. i wasn't on the schedule and there were already 2 closers.

i decided to stay since i'd driven a half hour to get there and i thought it would be easier to get to know the girl i didn't know if i had someone else there that i did know.

on the plus side, i got my check for last week and noticed that i'd gotten a $1 an hour raise! woot!

Wow a whole dollar raise, thats cool! Thats what I need. It's nice that you got to stay and get to know your co-workers.
