Update - 35.4 Week Appt Posted: 06-21-07 13:01pm
The baby is now measuring a little small
but nothing to be concerned about. He is
still breech. The nurse actually felt his
behind today when she gave me an exam
because I am 1 to 2 cm dilated. She also
said I am getting "thinned out." So, I am
getting ready to go into labor within the
next five weeks or so (give or take a few
weeks). The doctor is very comfortable
with the manual turning of the baby. I am
very nervous. He said he has done it many
times. He is going to wait until I am 37
weeks just in case the turning causes me
to go into labor or causes fetal distress
(what about parental stress??). I am going
in to have this procedure done in little
over a week. He said if it doesn't work
then we will schedule a c section, which
could mean I will have the baby in about
three weeks. The cord is not wrapped
around the babies neck so I will be doing
pelvic tilts and hand stands in water.
I am moving this weekend as well. We are
moving into our new house! I am excited. I
finally can "nest." No wonder why I have
so much anxiety: high risk pregnancy,
moved four times in the past year and a
half (three in different states), moving
into our new house, finances...etc. etc.
etc. It will be nice to finally be in a
house we plan on staying in for a long
period of time!!! Very long, God willing.

I hope that the turning is not soo bad for
*you*! It's good to know, at least, that
he does it regularly.
C-sections are so much harder to head from
than vaginal births. ANd take a lot out of
the Dr.'s!
I hope you make it to 37 weeks for the
turning!! 1-2 centimeters!! That's
great!!
Good luck .love! And try to take it easy
while moving!!!
hopefully your baby turns before labor
comes, be careful moving and stuff you
dont wanna go into labor seeing as your
already thinning and somewhat dilated.
Dont over due it, hope you have an easy
time moving. Glad to see the drs went
well. not much longer to go try and take
it easy as much as possible!

I really hope that he turns for you! I
have seen someone getting manually turned
and it didn't look fun. I think that they
give you some kind of painkiller first
though. I will be sending prayers your way
that the pelvic tilts work.

Thanks everyone for the support!!
I am soooo not good with pain. I have
absolutely no pain tolerance. I have read
"on the internet" that manual turning can
be painful, not just uncomfortable. I
heard they do numb the area, somehow, to
make it easier to turn the baby. I really
have no idea. Just reading about it makes
me feel nervous - sick. I am just going to
do a lot of pelvic tilts and such in hopes
that the baby will turn within the next
week.
"Be careful!!" I really need to heed that
advice!

That is exactly what happened with my
first baby! He was breech and they waited
till I was 37 weeks before trying to
manually turn him. It really wasnt that
bad they just give you something to relax
your muscles (mine was an iv, which is the
bit that can bring on labour) then put
talc powder all over my belly then pushed.
It feels uncomfortable but really not
painful. With me the gynae tried to turn
him for like 10mins and towards the end it
just felt abit like friction burns!!!
(with his hands rubbing against my stomach
so much lol!!) I think it was only like
this though because Aydan just would not
turn!! (So I cant comment what that will
feel like!)
In the end we gave up and I was booked for
a c-section a week later, When Aydan was
born his cord was only 15cm long and the
placenta was high up in my stomach which
explained everything about why he was
breech and didnt turn!!
Dont worry to much about it in my
experience it wasnt too bad! But heres
hoping bubba moves himself! Do you get
serious pains in your ribs?? I remember
that with Aydan his head seemed to get
right wedged in there!

I really hope your little man turns around
on his own. My sister in law went in for
her appointment late in her pregnancy and
the doctor said we are going to have to
schedule a c-section because the baby is
breech. So they got up early a week later
and went to the hospital totally prepared
to have the c-section. Well wouldn't you
know it, that little baby flipped on her
own and was in the correct position. So
they sent her home and scheduled her to be
induced if she didn't go into labor. She
was a week and a half late and went in for
her induction and ended up getting an
emergency c-section because she never
dialated past 1cm.
I guess that just shows you that you never
know what will happen!
Good luck!

Ohhh I hope he turns for you! I couldn't
have that done because right before I
found out .Hannah was breech, my water
broke. They said there was "not enough
water in the pool" left to turn her. She
had flipped herself 2 weeks before the due
date to be breech, and it was so
uncomfortable, I thought I actually was in
labor. Children seem to have a mind of
their own even in utero! (she's still
pretty strong willed!)
