Sore, white spot on tongue Posted: 06-23-07 11:52am
I have a sore white spot on my tongue.
There was a taste bud that was hard there,
for several years. I thought it was some
type of cyst. Now it is white and sore.
Should I be concerned?

It' s difficult to define changes of the
tongue without a visual examination.
However, the white spots on your tongue you
describe might be the result of conditions
such as: oral candidiasis, leukoplakia, an
antibiotic side effect, oral thrush, oral
lichen planus, oral manifestation of some
skin conditions. You may consult your
primary health care doctor for advice.
