Birth Control Pill For Painful Periods/endometriois? Posted: 06-23-07 13:51pm
I need some help here I'm
20 yrs old and have very heavy
excruciating 10-day periods and 2 of my
doctors think I have widespread
endometriosis (possibly on uterus,
bladder, kidneys, colon, etc cuz that's
where pain is). They've suggested a
low-dose birth control pill like Ortho
Tricyclin Lo. I'm not sexually active so I
wouldn't be taking them for that reason,
just to help with periods/endo.
So here's my question - do u think it's
safe/effective to only take the Pill for a
few days before each period to help temper
the extreme periods? I really don't want
to take them full time which my dr.
doesn't understand but i have my personal
reasons. Any input would be very much
appreciated!!!
