i never used it, but my younger sister did
about 9-mo's ago or so.
she didn't stay on it very long, at all.
the gyno told her the wrong date to start
it & it messed up her period really
bad. she ended up having it for about
3-mo's!
as for the weight gain. if i remember
correctly, she put on some pounds, but
nothing major. she lost it all right after
she stopped use of it.
but seriously, word of advice. make sure
they tell you the correct date to start
the patch! good luck.

I have never used it, but .I see to recall
some bad medical side effects that were in
the news, .I may be losing it.
I would be concerned with it falling off
and my not knowing it. And if the
adhesive was so good that it couldn't
possibly fall off, would .I want to rip it
off? I would think people with sensitive
skin could have break outs from it.
Unfortunately .I think most birth control
does cause weight gain.

I haven't had a personal experience either
however my very good friend was on it.
She didn't like it at all it messed up her
cycle and definately affected her skin..
She used it on her bum and now has a
permant square on her tush because of it.
She switched to the pill and loves it much
better.
As for weight gain, I don't know. My
friend didn't really gain weight but shes
ity bity anyways and nothing makes her
gain weight!
i am horrible with the pill. i'm not
going to bother with that. i was on depo
for a while before i had rowan, but my dr
had some issues with calcium and bones, or
something. that is when i switched to the
pill, which, didn't work out for me... if
anyone else knows anything about it please
let me know. i mean, i've looked it up
and seen warnings about blood clots and
stuff, but that comes with all birth
control i believe. and also it said it
helps with acne, and i know one of my
friends went on it and her boobs got big
and her skin got super nice. so that is a
pro.

I dont have a personal experience with the
patch. There is a thread going on right
now in the birth control forum about the
patch, if you're interseted.

The patch is the reason why Brayden is
here today.

I loved the patch. I am such an airhead
with remembering the pill, which is the
reason why Nate is in this world.
Since the recall or scare with blood clots
while using the patch, no doctor will
prescribe it for me. I really hate the
pill

I liked it, but since I have ...er...um
...looser skin than some women, it would
crease and then get all linty in the
middle and eventually start peeling off.
I tried putting it on the firmest part of
my body I could think of, like my upper
arm, and that worked a bit better. Then i
found out it had gluten in it, and that
was why I always had huge blisters on my
skin when I took it off. But a lot of
people like it. the side effects from the
medication would be similar to that of the
pill because the medication is the same.
the Mirena IUD is good for 5 years and is
hormonal. the copper is good for 10 (I
think) and it is not hormonal. There have
beenpeople who have had a lot of side
effects in years past, but I was told by
my gyno that those things don't happen
anymore. I
got my tubes tied, and now I don't have to
remember anything. Which is good for me
since I have almost no brains left.

I liked it for the sole reason I didn't
have to take a pill once a day.
I didn't like it because I would forget
about it and put lotion on it(a big no
no...it makes it fall off).
It didn't make me gain weight though.
Before I had .oni I was on the patch, and
was skinnier than all get down!! lol!
Excercise along with the patch will
decrease any chance of you gaining weight.
But that's easier said than done with a
baba!!!
