Sudden Hypotenstion Vs Consistent Hypertension ? Posted: 06-24-07 08:09am
I too am having questions here regarding
my blood pressure reading and my not
feeling well lately, which sent me to the
doctor in the first place.
for 2 weeks now I"ve been extremely weak
and become very groggy and sleepy at the
wheel while driving to work in the
morning. I can barely walk up a flight of
stairs because my legs and arms feel so
heavy and lead like. it makes my heart
pound so hard to walk up them and I avoid
the hill to get back to work after lunch.
I instead take the stairs. I don't which
one is worst? I feel like a woman who may
be in her late 90's, not 46.
My mind feels foggy and light headed and
there are times I feel like I'm going to
just pass out doing just minor things like
looking down on my desk at work to sign
some papers.
I am 46 yrs old and was diagnosed with
hypertension years ago and have been
taking lisinopril for years now. the
medication does help me and has helped
lower my blood pressure to a good reading
of 120/80 to 130/90 every time I get my
blood pressure performed in the past.
My co-workers and my boss even asked me
last week if I feel ok because I'm so pale
looking. My boss sent me home and told me
not to come in if I still didn't feel well
the next day.
I went to the dr the other day and my
blood pressure reading was 100/70 which is
low for me but considered within normal
range by the new dr I saw that day. My
temperature had to be retaken because the
nurse became concerned when she saw how
low it was, so she repeated it and this
time it read higher, but it was still low
for me, which the reading said, 97.1
My temperature is always the perfect
reading of 98.6 and nothing ever lower
than that.
so my blood pressure and temperature were
way off as far as I'm concerned.
for ME it is not normal. I have never had
a reading this low in my life other than
when my body was going into shock from
internal hemmoraging after an abdominal
surgery I had for a tubal ligation years
back.
there is no change in my diet, no change
in my dosage of lisinopril.
the dr. I saw the other day was not my
family dr and knows nothing about my
medical history or my body like my regular
doctor does.
If anyone else went thru this, could you
please share your information with me of
what you went thru and what was the final
outcome of your problem?
any info would be deeply appreciated. I
can't go back to my regular dr till I get
my medical insurance in August or Sept.
which is in a few months.
I don't know what to do to correct the
problem meanwhile and i"m thinking of
just stoppping the blood pressure
medication since the pressure is so low. I
am aware to never stop this particular
medication abruptly and that it needs to
be done gradually.
