I used to have an active, enjoyable sex
life and never had problems having a
orgasm. Over the past 10 years it has
become increasingly more difficult to
achieve an orgasm and for the past several
years I can't even have an orgasm through
masturbation. In addition, over the past
few years when I did achieve orgasm, a
painful ache in my vaginal area followed.
The other night I had two orgasms while
sleeping, and woke up to a painful ache in
my vaginal area. I had to take advil
before I went back to sleep.
It is difficult to get aroused, and stay
aroused before climax. So, I've given up
on sex for the past few years but it
saddens me to think that I have lost my
drive when I know how wonderful it used to
feel.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you talked to an ob-gyn about this
problem?

Yes, he recommend I try using astro-glide
or other lubricant. At the time I was
nursing which he said could keep me from
lubricating well and therefore have more
discomfort. It does help alleviate some of
the discomfort during sex, but the ache is
still there, and so is the pain from the
orgasm (which I never have anymore, except
in a dream I had the other night)
