ok so my bedroom is tiny... let me describe it to you... i have a big enough room to fit my bed my night stand and my armior ... with all that squished in there there is only about 2 foot of walk way... now we're going to be putting in shelving on the one wall to put everything that's in the armior on... then we're throwing out the night stand... that leaves enough room for a crib... do any of you have any other ideas? like, is there anything else i could do to maximize space or anything else i could put on the walls?

the only thing i could come up with is storage under the bed. maybe drawers or those fancy boxes or baskets or something. we have a tiny house too and we are having one heck of a time trying to figure out where everything is going to go. apparently even a low maintenence baby has a lot of stuff!

My room is small too and the only thing we managed to do was get storage for under the bed and pack everything into cupboards

i live in a trailer... i thought the room was too small for me when we moved in... now i have me and my fiance'... i don't know what i'm going to do when it's me, my fiance', and the little one... it's going to be insane...

about the storage under the bed thing.. my dad went out and bough those plastic under the bed storage containers... turns out that my bed frame is to short for them to fit... thankfully my fiance's dad is making us a new bed frame which means soon we'll have enough room to fit those containers...

I saw this topic on the main page, and thought about those storage bags you buy where you put winter clothes or whatever in, and use your vacccuum cleaner to suck the air out of them. You can use it for extra linens, too.
Can you hang things from the ceiling? Drape some fabric across the corners like a canopy and put some things there.
I've got these fake tupperware like containers from the dollar store and i keep all kinds of documents, supplies, etc. in those. They stack nice.
I know someone who used the top shelf of their dresser as a baby bassinet-close it during the day!

me and my fiance' were thinking about those vacuum storage bags but then thoguh about the fact that what we'll be putting under the bed is mainly books shoes and things of that nature, no sheets or blankets... we tend to keep our linens in the laundry room (yeah i know... whats with a laundry room in a trailor, i guess it was just an extra, dunno) but about the hanging things from the ceiling part... well i would love to but i'm putting my paintings up on the ceiling because the wall where they used to reside is the one we're using for all the shelves for our clothes.

we're going to have a footboard shelf for the tv and there will be a whole bunch of extra room on it, so i was starting to think maybe about making that extra space a changing table. but there is one problem with that, my fiance' seems to think that we're just going to use the bed to change him. does he not get that i'm not washing the sheets everyday because some how the baby managed to pee on them or we some how got a soiled diaper opened upside down on them?

i'm starting to think about a bassinet, but once the baby is born it's a 6 month wait untill we get our own trailor, i think i should just stick with a crib so i don't have to buy one when we move, or risk having to buy one before we move.

sorry guys... i'm too picky and there are too many complications, i know... sorry again

i'm with your fiance, use the bed to change the baby. put a towel down or something, a changing table is not a necessity.

my suggestion is to go through all your stuff and get rid of all the junk. there must be some books and clothes and shoes and other stuff that you're just hanging on to but don't actually use anymore.

i saw those changing pad things at wal mart with the sides that go up so the baby can't roll around. i think they are supposed to be used on a change table but they could easily be put on any surface and they have removable covers that can be washed.

we actually went through all of our stuff last week and gave alot to goodwill. but my books, well i can't give those up, they all have memories and totaling them all up i probably have a about 2000 dollars worth... and no they aren't those teenybopper books they're old antiques and collectibles.

and thinking about it for the changing station idea, maybe my parents wouldn't mind giving up the counter between our bathroom sinks for a changing pad, all that's sitting there now is a soap dish (that never has soap in it lol) and the toothbrushes. worse comes to worse i'll just use the bed lol.
