Hymen Questions

Okay.. i'm new here, but here goes everything:

I'm 16. My g/f is 16. We have not had sex and we are both virgins. However, we do masturbate each other to relieve sexual tension so that we will not end up having sex.

Last night, I was fingering her and she was seeming to enjoy it way more than usual. I really don't know why, but anyways she told me to quit like half way through and she said that if I kept on, I would definatley pop her cherry this time. Here's what I'm concerned about: My girlfrined is VERY nice and tight. I like that a LOT. With one finger in, you can feel a good amount of pressure all around. It's good stuff. Two fingers is really a job on her ( and it hurts her, so I dont do it), i guess b/c she's a virgin.

So.. she got home last night and when she pee'd she told me on the phone that there was a "little bit of blood". I think it may be because I tried two fingers (ring and pinky) toward the end. The blood was definatley not from my fingernails. I dont know where it came from, but she said that is was not on her underwear, and there was none on my hand.

Okay so my questions are: Do you folks think I popped her cherry? When a cherry is popped, how much blood is there? Will you know for sure when It's popped? Once the hymen is broken, does that mean my girlfirend will be as loose as a girl who is not a virgin? Will she be as tight as it was before it was popped?

Because... If she's gonna end up being loose b/c of my fingers, I'm goning to stop fingering around.

Hello and welcome.

Ok, it sounds like you two have gotten some really awful information from somewhere.

Hymens usually tear in childhood or puberty. They tear from running, jumping, masturbation, and tampon use. So chances are her hymen has already torn due to her age. And If your fingers were in there, that is another sign that it's probably been torn all along.

Some girls do have a tough and durable hymen that does not break when they are younger, but it is not the norm. Their hymen might even stay intact after having sex! Theirs also might hurt or bleed more when it breaks.

There is usually little or no pain or blood involved when the average hymen tears, so many girls have no idea when it happened.

The hymen is not inside a girl's body; it is part of the external female genitalia. So that means it could not affect how tight or loose she is. Sex does not affect how loose or tight a woman is either. People mistakingly assume that virgins are tight, but that is not the case. Sex does not stretch out a vagina in any way. Having a baby, however, can make the vagina looser.

Many things can make a woman seen tighter or looser including how relaxed the woman is, how lubricated she is, and how in the mood she is. That can all change from day to day. Many girls might seem tight their first time, but that's usually because they are nervous, not relaxed, and not lubricated enough.

Your girlfriend is still a virgin until she has sex. Hymens are in no way related to virginity.

Chances are you just scratched her with your fingernail (that can happen even if you don't realize it, and even if your nails are very short), or that the inside of her vagina tore due to friction because she was not lubricated enough. That's very common. The inside of the vagina is made up of some extremely delicate tissue, and it can tear easily.

That's great that you two are holding off on having sex. Please learn more about your bodies before you do decide to have sex. You can always ask questions here, but here are some educational websites that can also help you get started learning:

Yup, that's certainly not the norm, but it does happen from time to time.
