Quality of Life, Why Did I Ask?
Posted: 03-04-04 09:25am

Ok heres the simple answer......
I am pro life, regardless of what happens.
A baby, retarded and or physically disabled is still a baby. It was sent to the parent of that child to teach, to teach that obsticals can be over come, that a person is who they are on the inside, not by what they acheive on the out side, I am not a big religious fanatic, but god made all of us, and god does not make mistakes. Good could not be with out evil ect... And no one is perfect, some just have a lot more love than others.
As for a rape situation, if a woman takes the precautionary measures after a rape than this is not an issue, but if she doesnt, through fear ect, or these measures fail, and a baby is conceived, said baby is still a part of her, and is still a living baby........ My oppinion is that no one has the right to play god, a disabled or unplanned baby is still just that, a baby...
I have read some of you guys saying that abortion is homicide in other posts, what makes it alright in these situations????? If these excuses are alright why arnt the other excuses? Yo me they are all just excuses.....
Ps, about the disabilities, what if the doctors were wrong? Made a mistake and the baby wasnt disabled? And you aborted it?

I totally agree brenda-great post.I really go mad when I hear people say "im anti-abortion but i'd abort if my baby would be disabled." are people that obsessed with perfection that they'd kill their own children just because they weren't conventionally perfect.
Why is a disabled baby any less of a baby then a 'normal' one-it should be even more special because they take more looking after and care.
If I thought my baby would be born so badly disabled that it would die within a few days,i would still have the baby because that would be my child-what right would I have to consent to its life being taken away-i'd want to meet my child &know that for the few days it lived i'd shown it love.I cannot imagine how hard it would be to give birth to a child that may die after a few days but i'd rather do that then give birth to it dead in an abortion. Sorry to be so graphic. These are just my opinions.
