Most of you do not know me, I am fairly
new. My name is Maleyah. I'm fourteen
years old and my daughter McKayla is
almost one. My ex bailed on me when he
found out I was pregnant, and just
recently he and his mom showed up at my
house to see McKayla. He says that if he
doesn't get to see her, he'll sue for
custody.
I cannot lose my daughter, she's my world
and what i lvie for. I don't have anything
else. I do not want him with ehr because
he's been known to be neglectful, and is
struggling with drugs and peer pressure
from the people he calls friends.
As a single mother, I really have no one
who will evenw ant to stick up for me, let
alone give me some advice. please help!

You need an adult on your side
immediately..............although I agree
that a father/mother should be able to see
their child on a regular
basis............you don't know which way
this is going to turn out. If your
attending school, go see the counsellor
tell him/her the situation and ask for a
social worker or advocate. Someone who can
tell you the legalities and what your
entitled to. In the meantime, if this
should reach the court
system..........you'll need to keep
accurate records.............how many
times he comes to see the child? any
history of violence/drug use/harrassment?
deadbeat dad? etc.................the
point is, this is too heavy for you to
handle alone................get help,
there are many free services out there but
you have to ask for them
