New to the Forum... 36 Weeks And Have Some Questions...

First off, Hi everyone.. I'm Tasha.. I've been reading through some forums, and everyone seems really nice on here.

I'm 36 weeks pregnant, with my first... - A GIRL!! (Kealie). And it seems like my doctor is always too busy to see me so I can ask some questions, so maybe I can ask you ladies.

Sleeping... HOW DO YOU DO IT?!?! I wake up about 10 times a night to go to the bathroom. And I just can't get comfortable. They say, "lay on your left side"... that KILLS me.. but yet, sleeping on my back or my right side does the same thing.. I have no idea how to get comfortable at night. I feel as though my belly is being pulled away from the rest of my body when I sleep. And it's so hot.. I sweat all night.. although the air conditioner is going full blast, and I have a fan blowing right on me. My poor boyfriend freezes all night long because I'm so hot that I have to have anything with air on HIGH..

Anyway, just a few questions.. any help would be deeply appreciated.

Welcome .Tasha! My name is .Cindy and .I have a 3 month old son.
I feel your pain. I bought one of those body pillows and strattled it. They recommend that you sleep on your left, because it provides good circulation for you and baby, but from what my doc said if you're not getting good circulation you will wake youself up, so re-adjust then. There is no real way to get comfy in the end. I think it's .God's cruel way of getting you ready to get less sleep with a little one who may get up and stay up in the night.
Nap when you can. Ask your doc about trying benedryl? I took it all through and it did help a lot.
As for the night sweats, .I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they got a lot worse for me after the baby was born! I would have the window open (in March) a fan blowing, my man would be shivering and .I'd be wiping sweat off my entire body. It's hormones, and .I'm happy to say 3 months post partum, it's better (almost), finally.
Don't know what to say about the all night bathroom breaks, try limiting your drinks in the evening, but you really need to keep hydrated, especially with all the sweating. lol

You only have a couple of weeks left. Good luck to you! I look forward to seeing your daughter in the baby forum soon!

Congrats!!!

I was going to say the same thing about getting you prepared. You think you lack sleep now, just wait. With my first, I was up all the time. He wanted to eat every two hours. I am also 36 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. I don't wake up as much as you do, though. I do hope you can at least get a little sleep before your lil' one comes. I would ask about benedryl, too.

As for night sweats....oh my!! I am hot all the time. It's really not fun. It doesn't help that it's the summer here (I didn't read where you are from).

We are almost there!

hey welcome to the forum. i'm 36 weeks also, due july 23rd. all of the things you said are so familiar to me. i don't know what to do except make sure i sleep at the same times so i have a regular sleep pattern. i've tried taking a cool bath before bedtime to cool off and that helps sometimes. put a pillow under your belly to support it when you are lying on your side. use a nice soft one that will conform to the shape of your belly so you will be more comfy. also, a pillow between your knees keeps you from rolling forward too much and making your back sore. if you can, try getting a little massage before bed to relax you, especially your hips and lower back, that can help you sleep a little more comfortable. lastly, get used to it!! i don't know what else you can do. when baby comes there are going to be a lot of sleepless nights. wish i could help more, but i'm in the same boat as you. Smile

HI tasha, I'm becka

I'm 32 weeks along and I have the same issue. I sleep with one body pillow and two ginormous pillows. I find sleeping in somewhat of an upright position with a pillow right where the top of my belly is and my ribs are helps a lot (and then one between the knees)

As for the heat, it's summer here, humid, sticky and I can never feel as cold as I'd like. If this helps and you haven't tried it, sleep naked! Smile

seperate, or even a light sheet over you at night helps too. I go without any covers because it's rediculously hot here.

Like some of the other girls said, just know it's almost over!
Hope that helped, best of luck,
