Massage Manipulation And Trigger Point Massage Posted: 06-27-07 12:36pm
I have a friend who is a chiropractor, and
she is certified in massage manipulation
which is where she massages me to get the
joints back into place instead of just
popping them into place. She also is
certified in trigger point massage. She
had been working on me for several months,
when she had to return home (other end of
the US). I can
tell she hasn't been here because my back
and neck are a mess. I was
wondering if anyone else has ever had this
kind of therapy and if it was beneficial
to you. Also, if you had this therapy and
stopped, did you have pain again and what
did you do about it, if so?

I'm sorry it didn't work for you. Massage
manipulation and trigger point massage are
effective for some people. Did your
therapist recommend ice and/or heat on
swollen joints afterward?

oh yes---i still ice and heat and do all
that. I loved massage therapy and trigger
point therapy after the fact---hurt like
all get out during. I have sever tmd so i
have a ton of pain regularly--in fact all
the time. had surgery for it and am
recovering from that. too. Id like to go
back but i just cant afford it at this
point.

Unfortunately, when she was here she
called 11 other chiropractors in the area.
None of them use massage manipulation, and
she doesn't want me to just be popped.
She's worked too hard for that, and it's
dangerous she says. So, no, there is no
hope until I can see her again. I
guess I'll just have to wait. Thanks for
the suggestion, though.

i have to agree that being popped is
dangerous. why dont you look for an atlas
orthoganist? they dont do manual cracking.
