It sounds like it is one.. I would try
the preparation h. If it doesn't reduce
the size of it in a few days, then I would
go see the doctor. But it does sound
like a hemmorhoid.

Will it just reduce the size, or will it
get rid of it?

Here is a good website I found on it:
http://www.Lepetitbi
det.Com/hemorrhoid.Html
i don't think you can be too young to get
them, it's just not as common at an early
age. The cream will help reduce the
size, but i'm not sure if it will make it
go away. I think it reduces it and then
it goes away on its own.

Ok, but they normally go away on their own
correct? Is it more common to go away or
to have to get it like medically removed?

An external cream may reduce the
hemmorhoid, if it is of a marble size you
also run a risk of it bursting.
Surgery is normally only performed when a
patient has a long standing an ongoiing
problem with hemmorhoids.
External treatment, combined with an
altered diet and changes in post bowel
movement clean-up is normally the first
strategy used.
Rubber band ligation is sometimes also
used at stage 2. Surgery should be
thought of as stage 3.

So should I be worried at all? Or should
it go away?
Also, what happens if it bursts?

I would not be worried.
I would however bear in mind that the best
treatment results come from using an
external cream combined with at least one
7 day course of suppositories. Products
such as prep h come in both forms.
If it does burst (unlikely) you should
apply local pressure and will it
eventually stop bleeding, but may bleed
slightly for several hours.
Treating it externally and internally,
combined with minimal walking for several
days a soft food diet and avoiding strain
during bowel movements all need to be
combined to resolve the problem.

Although it probably is a hemarroid it may
not be so personally I would suggest that
you see a dr & get it checked because
if it's not then treating it yourself
could do more harm than good.
I started having anal bleeding at about 19
& have had several checks over the
past 30 years to make sure all is
basically ok & so far so good, I just
have trouble with blood vessels being abit
too near the surface there & so when I
go I often bleed. These days quite alot
& more often as the vessel walls are
thinner due to constantly breaking.
My point is that regardless of age you can
get any sort of problem but it doesn't
necessarily mean it's serious. But it is
best to see a Dr.

The prep h in cream form would have
originally come with a plastic applicator
intended for rectal insertion, which isn't
as effective as suppositories, but can be
used to treat that portion of the
hemmorhoid
that isn't externally accessible.

The hemmorhoid is a prolapsed vein which
originates in the rectum and hence is
ideally treated internally and externally
for best results.

cases? Thanks. :d

Hemmorhoids don't always start on the
inside, but yes, it should go away on its
own as long as you are treating it and
being careful with it. If it does get
bigger or start to hurt more, then I would
see a doctor.

They usually do go away and if yours does
not hurt or itch or anything, then it will
probably go away. But you really should
see your doctor in case it is something
else.
And you do need to insert the cream with
the applicator because it most likely
starts on the inside. It may not, but it
is just better to use it as directed.
But if you do not have the applicator and
do not want to buy more than just put it
on the bump and see what happens.
But, not to be gross, but do not mess with
it. And be careful when you wipe and
stuff so you do not irritate it. Gross,
I know, but especially if it is big, you
do not want it to burst.

Hi, I also have an external hemorrhoid.
I've had it for about a month now and it
doesn't seem like it's going down in size.
It doesn't hurt me anymore and doesn't
itch or anything...How long does it
usually take to go away?? I've already
tried using preparation h and anusol hc
cream but they're not helping to reduce
the size...Can anyone help?

How long can it take for the clot to be
dissolved by the body? I read that the
clot will usually dissolve itself but how
do you know when it's been too long?
