This is also posted in the teen pregnancy forum but I was told I'd get more responses here. I'm 18 years old and my period is 4 days late, I just took a pg test about 3 hours ago and it was positive. I'm not really sure what i'm expecting as a response to this post. Its just relieving to tell someone I guess. I've been seeking support from friends since I found out. I've yet to tell my parents, I think i'm gonna wait until its more sure. I'll gladly welcome any suggestions or stories. I dont want anymore surprises, I just want me and my baby to be okay. I'm finding it very hard to keep the stress off and I know thats not healthy. I'm hoping that talking about it here will make me more comfortable with the idea. I dont want to jeopardize the health of my baby in any way.

congrats!!
in my opinion i think its best to tell your parents as soon as possible. even if they have a hard time with it it gives them time to accept it and to be excited with you.
is the dad still in the picture?

do you want a boy or a girl??
i know it's early but it's fun to start thinking about it .. it makes it more real.

yes i'm engaged to the father. and it's definately his, i didnt sleep around or anything like that so there are no whos the daddy issues. i'm not sure if i want a girl or a boy. either one would be great. we're very excited and our main concern is that the baby is healthy. i just found out and i havent exactly been taking care of myself as if i were pregnant so we're just hoping that everything's okay like it should be. it still doesnt seem real. even talking about it on here seems like its a dream. i would like to tell my parents asap but i'm gonna need to work up the nerve first and i dont want to be under that stress right now. i know they're not going to react in the most positive way. i'm gonna wait until i can handle that kind of stress better without worrying if i'm stressing the baby.

before i found out i was pregnant i had 2 crazy weekends with lots of alcohol and my baby has been looking perfect at every appointment.. you'll hear countless stories of situations like that...biggest thing is take your prenatals and get in with the doctor.
my husband and i had only been dating for 3 weeks when i got pregnant..
im 21 years old and have never been so nervous to tell my parents something.. they did react negatively at first but now my mom walks around rubbing my belly bragging about her 3rd granddaughter.. it did take time for her though.. i wont lie probably a good 2 months before she finally got over the fact that i wasnt married when i got pregnant. for me though, i was more stressed thinking about telling them then the actual process of telling them.
in the end it all seems like no big deal in the long run.
im sure youll have a healthy happy pregnancy.

congrats, i was 17 when i found out i was pregnant, and now im 18 with a beautiful 1 month old daughter (although i could be bias lol)

i told my mum right away, it makes the shock less and the anger less (in my opinion at least) but so long as you know who the father is (ie your not a s|ut, this would probably make your parents angyer) and since your over 18 they cant do anything anyway

congrats again and good luck

Hello and welcome, I'm 19 and found out I was pregnant on Monday. I'm 6 weeks pregnant today.

My partner and I moved in to our home 4 weeks ago and he proposed last Friday (before we knew I was pregnant) our families were estatic about our news and kept joking a baby would be next. We didnt plan on getting married for another 4 years. We told both sets of parents the same night we found out, but we have suffered a previous miscarriage 3 years ago so are slighty nervous this time around. Added to that I found out I have mumps on Tuesday at my Doctors appointmet so we needed all the support we can get.

Anyway I'm slightly distacted now but Cogratualtions and you should try and tell your parents as soon as possible, they will probably be worried for you but the excitement of being grandparents will be too much.

oh cool. i want a girl kind of but i'd love either. so did you find out yet? and how did you break it to your parents? i'm so nervous about that. i'm also afraid that they already suspect it because i've been avoiding them and they know i do that when something's up.
