Eyes problems ? Small circular bursts of light w/ headache Posted: 06-28-07 19:41pm
I often get headaches, esp with my period,
but I've never had any visual disturbance
associated with them. Today though I had a
fairly mild headache throughout the
afternoon. Around 7pm after my headache
disappeared, I squated down to pick
something up and 2-3 minutes later I got
up and started seeing small circular
bursts of light. The first few were like
tiny bright soap bubbles but the last few
were like little flames. They occurred all
around my vision and the episode lasted
about 3 seconds. My vision returned to
normal after that. There were no floaters
or anything abnormal that I can tell. I'm
young and have no medical problems that I
know of other than these headaches which
are annoying but bother me too much. I ate
lunch at noon and while I was hungry when
this happened, I wasn't feeling weak. Does
what I just describe sound serious? What
can it be?

It is difficult to make any conjectures
about possible causes for the
“bubbles” that appear in your line of
sight. You can make an appointment to
visit an ophthalmologist to check your
vision and exclude/confirm eye disorder.
Sometimes vision problems can be due to
disorders found to be outside the eyes
(hypotension, hypoglycemia, anemia, brain
damage etc.).
