Hi... A new subscriber as of today.
Very new to all this and not sure how to
take the news I have been given as well.
Had multiple testing done. Mri on
brain shows deymlination desease..
(sp) sorry for the spelling. Spinal
cord c5 shows l'hermittes syndrome.
Two neurologists and the surgeon who
performed neck surgery 7/03 all have
referred to ms or considered it a primary
diagnosis pending testing.. Many tests
fell along the ms lines yet the spinal did
not at this time.
Have lost strength in arm and legs left
side primary..Left leg mostly feels not
strong enough to support me and have lost
balance on that leg recently. Tend to
have a defined limp when walking and
cannot stand solo for any period of time
longer than a few minutes... Vision is
horrid. Hard to focus on much ...
And speach tends to slur or diff to find
word at times. Also feel memory is
not as sharp. Normally sharp as a
tack they would say. Also have fatigue
where I would be normally quite active.
Hard to explain why. Also noted mood
swings.. For no real reason to trigger
them... Basically confused with it
all.
Recent spinal tap did not confirm
diagnosis. Is it possible for the
spinal tap not to confirm ms if symptoms
appear calm at that time? Just
concerned from what docs say without
saying ... And wondering the next
steps.
Do you still have the same symptoms?
Have you ever done test for sensory evoked
electrical potentials?
Have you ever examined the level of
Vitamine B12 and folic acid and made a
blood count?
