Baby's Head And Bobbing Around Still Posted: 07-01-07 21:52pm
Hi All...I come to you for some advice.
My little one HATES to be on his belly.
Consequently, he has developed a flatten
out head.
He is 3 and 1/2 mo. now and I can sit him
in his bumbo chair, but he doesn't hold
his head up straight. He sort of bobs it
up and down like he is still trying to get
ahold of it, so to speak. It will stay up
for a few seconds and then all of a sudden
it will sort of jerk up and down and then
his chin will be on his chest again.
How old were your kids when they could sit
up in like a bumbo with their heads UP and
not bobbing over side to side and up and
down...
I'm afraid it is because of the lack of
tummy time...and his neck muscles aren't
as strong...should I be worried at 3 and
1/2 mo.??
He is wanting to start sitting up, he
tries to when he is flat on his back, I
see him struggle to bend at waist and sit
up.
Any and all advice is extremely welcomed.
Thanks all, in advance, for your
thoughts.
Susie.

Amelia starting sitting in her bumbo at 3
months. She always could lift her head
real good when I would sit her on my lap.
But when I sat her in her bumbo, she
wouldnt keep her head up, I noticed she
got tired. I would let her sit in a few
minutes at a time then take her out then
do it again later on. She was more less
lazy I guess lol. Now she tries to get out
of it lol. But I dont think theres
nothing wrong. Amelia hated to be on her
tummy too, she still does. she wont lay
more than 5 minutes on her tummy.
If hes doing what .Mel did then you should
give what I done a try.

My daughter will be 4 months old on Sunday
and she still bobbs her head too. I'm
guessing it might take a while for your
lil one to start sitting up on his own and
the same with my daughter. My daughter's
daddy would like to get her a bumbo seat
but she cant really sit up on her own yet.
I've been doing some tummy time with her
and she tries rolling over. During her
tummy time....I usually would massage her
back and feet so she is comfortable. She
hates to be flat on her back. But yea it
might take a while. Nothing is wrong.
