Doctor's Appointment Today
Posted: 07-02-07 18:08pm

so im about 75% effaced and not dilated at all

she cant even strip my membranes because my cervix is so tight...but she said im very thinned out..

oh and she lied to me. she had told me before (and i had a witness) that she would not let me go over my due date because i have such a big baby in me. but today she said its hospital policy that they will not schedule inductions due to the fact there isnt enough bed space and they wont even schedule one if the baby is measuring big.. they dont consider that an emergency.

im really, really frustrated though because the reason there is no bed space is due to illegal immigration and people without insurance. the hospital cant legally turn anyone away so regardless of the fact that it is dangerous that my baby is getting larger and larger i still wont be induced until after 41 weeks. which means it will probably be likely the baby will either be stuck and suffer shoulder problems or i will have to get a c section. no one in my immediate family has ever gone into labor on there own, so im doubtful i will.

i just want to have a healthy happy safe delivery that is best for my baby. it feels like it is all about money and im not at all getting the best care for my child. i really feel like they dont care what is healthiest for me and my baby.

on a happy note i am really thinned out and im losing my mucus plug so maybe she will come on her own..
im not getting my hopes up though..

sorry its been a long frustrating hot day

Oh that sucks! We only have one hospital in my area that delivers babies, so if a woman were to go into labor, she'd be sol going someplace else. The closest one is an hour one way or 2 1/2 the other. When .I had my daughter there were women in labor in the hall way!!! Shocked

I hope everything goes well for you. I am looking forward to seeing your beautiful little .Brianna!

thats so stupid!! If they told you they wouldnt let you go over your due date because Brianna was getting big, how can they go back on that??
It makes no sense!!
Although to me you sound like your moving along, so brianna could still make her own way here! stay positive and lots of ***labour dust ***

yeah i think thats the most frustrating part of it..
her saying that and telling me the dangers of a big baby and then saying today that they dont consider a big baby an emergency.

its a proven fact !
errr

i hope so much shell come on her own but im doubtful..

i actually almost think they will want me to have a section because the hospital makes more money that way..
hmm..

I think that doctors can sometimes be the most frustrating people in the world. They tell you one thing when they mean something else, and then change their stories. My doctor told me that she was not going to let me go over 41 wks either. We will see if thats the case. You would think with all the swelling that I have, she would be wanting to do something sooner. My feet and legs look like incredibly water balloons and I have been staying OFF my feet now for a few days and they are swollen worse and feel worse. It really does suck. They are so swollen that they tingle at times. That definitely cannot be good. My hands look like they are the size of my husbands these days too. Ugh.. we will see. I see my doctor this morning and I am hoping that she does something like at least checks to see if I am dilating or anything as I have alot of cervical pain now. I can barely crawl my behind out of bed and get rolled over to get up. It totally sucks!!

I hope that you go in labour soon Vanessa!!! I will share my labour dust with you as I think that we are probably feeling pretty much the same!! I am definitely thinking about you thats for sure.

Take care!

Posted: 07-03-07 11:12am

Well.. I had my appointment. I have trace amounts of protein in my urine now but nothing that they are worried about.. ARGHHHHHHHHHH lol So.. she told me that everything with me was too perfect to induce me. Not what I wanted to hear thats for sure. Blood Pressure is still down so thats a good thing.

Anyways... thought I would let you know. Cheers!

Vanessa, how completely frustrating! You are measuring so big already. I am sure you brought up what she had said earlier - saying you will be induced - what did she say?? I would personally be livid.
