My period is late : should I wait or test for pregnancy now? Posted: 07-03-07 10:18am
i normaly have my period during the end of
the month. the last week of june i was
cramping but nothing happened. it is now
july third and still nothing has happend.
i have been getting some cramps but they
go away and my breast are showing signs
that it is coming. should i wait a little
longer or go test now?

If your expected period is late, you can
do a home pregnancy test now. Most home,
urine-based pregnancy tests are accurate
when taken 5 days before an expected
period is due to arrive. If the results
are positive, you can confirm a pregnancy
at your gynecologist's office with a
blood-based pregnancy test and ultrasound.
If the results are negative, your late
period could be due to functional or
organic disorders of the reproductive
system. Either way, you might want to
schedule a check up with your
gynecologist.
