Maybe It Almost Happened? Opinion?
Posted: 07-03-07 16:13pm

I have been off the pill for a year now and have been fairly regular with my cycles running 27-30 days, getting my period between the 1st and 4th of each month. But not pregnant yet. Sad

Last week I was lightly bleeding on June 26th and had some brownish discharge on the 27th. This was very out of the ordinary for me and I thought it was implantation bleeding and thought I may be pregnant. But then I started bleeding again on the 29th and it really kicked in on the 30th and I had a ridiculously heavy flow on the 31st. I am still having very light bleeding today (7/3).

I have been wondering for a week if maybe it almost happened?? Maybe I had a fertilized egg that tried to implant but it didn't 'stick' for whatever reason and then my period kicked in?? Does that sound likely to anyone, or do you think I was just getting my period extra early?

If it almost did happen, then is the likelihood that I will get pregnant soon increasing??? Is there any research out there to that effect?

Thanks.

There's really no way of knowing if it did almost happen or not. Just so you know though, my doc believes that 50% of all pregnancies ends in miscarriage but the majority of them happen so early that the woman never even knows she is pregnant. So, there you go.
