My Girlfriend Can't Gain Weight ! Posted: 07-03-07 23:07pm
Okay, here's the story.
She's 5"4, and low 80's pounds. She wont
tell me exactly, because she is too
embarrassed about how skinny she is. She
tells me that she wants to gain weight,
because her low weight gets in the way of
her life, but she can't, because she is
always full.
We've been to many doctors, and it is
getting harder and harder every time to
convince her to go to another doctor. All
we get is doctors who think she is
anorexic, or simply a young teen girl who
wants to look thin for her man. I can
tell you it is quite the opposite. She
hates the way she looks now, and she wants
to gain weight, but the doctors we have
been to simply do not listen, and it is
getting very frustrating.
She was born in the womb of her anorexic
mother, who was dangerously underweight at
the time. She was also born next to a
tumor, further decreasing her birth weight
to 4lbs. She was born skinny.
Is there any chance of her gaining weight?

She can't work out; she doesn't eat
enough, so the most she can do is a walk
around the block.
has she spoken to a nutritionist, what
exactly does she eat during the day? She
could be eating bad foods that fill up
faster, i would try fruits and veggies
etc. Has she had her thyroid checked? her
low weight coulbd be a thyroid problem, or
she could easily be trying to mask an
eating disorder.
just run through a typical day with here.
oh for a piece of info try not to post
weights on here, it can trigger people
with eating disorders so we try to refrain
from posting weights or goal weights or
stats of any sort on here for the sanity
of the members struggling.

not eating 3 meals is not a metabolism
problem, if you are underweight the reason
behind it is your only eating 2 snacks! So
of course you arent gonna gain any weight.
How can you be sooo busy at age 14 that
you dont have time to eat? eatings like
number one priority, you need to try and
set aside time to eat 3 regular meals.
from each food group. lots of fruits and
veggies and meats and breads. breakfast is
the most important meal of the day. You
can get your metabolism back on track by
eating normally. chances are cuz u eat 2
snacks when u start eating meals regularly
you will gain weight quickly since your
body isnt used to that much food and it
will hold on to it . eventually it will
even itself out once you start eating
amore balanced diet, even excersizing just
a little bit. But I really seriously dont
think its a metabolism problem seeing as
you hardly eat. Im not trying to sound
mean or anything like that, just stating a
fact based on the information you have
given me. Have you been to a dr about
this?
