This is going to sound like a strange
question maybe..
But do any of you tmj sufferers find you
have exsess saliva... or maybe more then
usual?
lately my mouth has been pretty dry but
i'm starting to notice more and more
saliva, especialy tonight, its sort of
annoying, or maybe i'm over reacting (just
been told I have anxiety)
I did just start my Anxiety Pills, so
maybe its them that caused it, but on the
symptoms list they only have dry mouth not
Saliva.
I did see on a symptoms list for tmj under
throat, Salivation.. but I am not sure?

Excessive Saliva Posted: 07-04-07 14:07pm
Hi deMarie, it's cindy, YES i had that
years ago..... tons and tons of excess
saliva, it was really annoying. it was
even foamy. i will never forget it, cause
i told the MD, i told him," i am foaming
at the mouth" and he said Isnt that
weird!!! so i have always wondered about
it too, and i think there is a saliva
gland in the cheek, and they are even in
the neck. so YES i have had that.
somethings wrong there with your jaw.
when did all this start up? cindy

really, foaming!!!
i'm not foaming but still annoying.
Back in march I was having pains in the
side of my head, nausia after eating,
dizziness, itchy ears..
Drs kept saying oh its this or its that
then they didn't know..
and i said well my winsdom teeth are
trying to cut threw again, do you think it
could be them and the Dr said yes, so I
went and saw a denstis and she reffered me
to a Maxilofacial surgion and she told me
it was my jaw.
the nurse explained what I had was like a
sprain.
then I got over it and now funny face and
head symptoms have started again, I was a
bit suss because my jaw has been cracking
alot lately.

Hi DeMarie,
Lots of saliva is very common for TMJ
sufferers. I had that for years until a
couple of years ago when I started taking
medications that cause dry mouth. I'd
rather have the saliva, to tell you the
truth. There is a positive to extra
saliva - it keeps the cavities down. Now
I know why I didn't have any cavities for
years. I hope I don't start getting them
now.
Be very careful about the popping. If
there is anyway not to pop - don't. I was
a big popper. I couldn't help it. But
unfortunately popping will frequently
cause degenerative arthritis in the jaw
joint. So please, be careful.
God bless...

Hi
Yes, i dribble day and night and its very
embarrasing. I work full time so have a
tissue constantly by my side during the
day, and a towel on my pillow at night !!
Dont worry you are not alone.
