feeling of electric shock Posted: 07-08-07 23:59pm
I've got a very important question. I'm
too scared to go anywhere else and ask.
Every time I concentrate very hard on
something I get this unusual feeling, it's
almost impossible to describe. It feels as
though my brain has been given and
electrical shock and my ears begin to
ring, sometimes some muscles in my body
will move slightly. It happens especially
when I try and go to sleep. I close my
eyes and just try and all of a sudden it
just happens, and not just once it happens
several times to the extent where I'm
forced to take some Trazodone in order to
fall asleep. I'm 17 years old.
I have just recently quit using ecstasy.
Any help would be great, thanks.

Mdma acts like an SSRI, which blocks the
reuptake of serotonin in your brain. A
lot of people coming off of SSRIs and
SNRIs complain about these "brain shocks",
probably a result of depleted serotonin.
Depending on how long and often you used E
before quitting, you could just be
experiencing a withdrawal effect. These
effects tend to dissapate as your brain
becomes used to lower serotonin levels,
although it can take some people months to
recover. If these effects are too much
for you, you should see a doctor for their
opinion.
