I currently have an outbreak of oral
herpes ( caused by hsv-1) so my doctor
prescribed valtrex to me. I am a bit
worried about taking it because it lists
some harsh side effects, like dizziness
and vomiting. To anyone who has had
experience with valtrex before: did you
have any side effects? If so, what were
they and how common is it to get them?
Please respond right away, as I should
start the medication.

All medicines have side effects... Each
and every one... When you hear on t.V an
advertissement for some sort of pill they
always include the side effects... Not
because you're going to get them.. But
because the companies who make them have
to. I work in a pharmacy so i've learned
alot about meds in the past while... In
fact side effects are usually very rare.
However if you find yourself starting to
have a side effect, then stop taking it,
and return to your doctor..

My mother is on valtrex for shingles and
she does not get any bad side effects.
It, like every other drug, is going to be
different for every one.
