im really getting worried now

the pain in my back has started up again
and its not as bad as it was last night but its pretty uncomfortable and hurts like the dickens

i have the heating pad on and its helping
but i was talking to travs mom about it and we are wondering if this is infact an infection

i had 4 weeks ago but my doctor perscribed me witth oral meds twice a day for 3 days. my next appointment is on the 24th
im not sure if i should wait until then to see if the pain goes away?

What kind of an infection does your doctor think it is? A uterine infection? Is that what you had 4 weeks ago? I had one of those and I was hooked up to an IV and antibiotics for 5 days...Uterine Infections are really serious and nasty. Good luck.

Didn't you say you had a uterine infection last time? I don't think that would show up in a urine test. Your bladder and uterus are totally separate organs.

unless you meant urinary tract infection not uterine. maybe you got them mixed up? they don't always test for everything when they test your urine. they could have been checking for protien or something and not bacteria. you have to let your doctor know what your symptoms are so they can check to see what's causing them.

yes i had an infection and my doctor perscribed me antibiotics for 3 days
twice a day
and i took them and drank lots of cranberry juice like she told me to do
on my appointment on the 2nd when i went in they made me pee like usual and all that good stuff, did the heartbeat thing and an ultrasound and everything was fine
she said my last blood tests came back normal and that if she found any more of the bacteria in my urine sample theyd call me
but i havent gotten a call from thme or anything? and when i talked to her today she didnt tell me how my results came back? but she did say she was worried and shed like me to come in tomarrow

thats why travs mom doesnt think its an infection or she would have told me one came back in my urine? then why would she say that she was worried thats what i might have?

That's a urinary tract infection, not a uterine infection. Two totally different things.

If they weren't looking for it, maybe not. When you have an infection, your white blood cells start going nuts. They might have noticed that - and might have seen the cells in your urine. But then again, they might not have.

I don't know if you have another infection. All you can do is go to the doctor.

Laughing no urinary tract infection aka uti is in urine so no not in blood work only in pee sample. why are you having so many ultrasounds do they think there is a prob with your pregnancy????
also sounds like you had a uti the last time if you drank cranberry juice and took antibiotics 3times a day

Well you wouldn't take cranberry juice for a uterine infection - that's a treatment for .u.t.i. A uterine infection probably wouldn't show up in urine, either.

You had an infection in your bladder, not your uterus. Wink

I agree. Uterine infections don't physcially hurt either (you mentioned that you had bad pain last time you had it) Well, atleast I don't remember mine hurting. Anyway, it's probably a uti like everyone else is saying. Good luck at the doc's.

the first ultra sound i had was at my 8wks 3 days appt which was my first one
the second one i had was at about 10 weeks when i had spotting and went in just to make sure everything was ok because i was freaking out
and then i was sent to another dctrs office (when i got my ultrasound pics) to do the nuchial trans test (or however you spell it) for down syndrome and stuff?

then the other one i had was on the 2nd of this month when i was 16 weeks and they had schedualed me to see if it was a boy or a girl or not. but they couldnt tell

my next appt was origonally for the 24th which is when ill find out what im haveing ill be 19 weeks 3 days then so they should be able to tell

and now the one tomarrow

whew\sorry that was so long

...did you ask for that test or something? Because you're pretty young...I don't see why they'd do a test for .Down's. Weird.

no my OBGYN just sent me there for it
they said i had a low chance of haveing a baby with down syndrome and that its usually in women over 35. but they measured the back of the babies neck and stuff and told me everything was normal and it was a healthy baby.

Did you get an abnormal reading from your blood test to warrant that ultrasound? That's not really routine.
