might I Have Temporal Lobe Epilepsy ? Posted: 07-10-07 03:59am
Hi everyone! I just registered and would
like to ask your oppinion on my story.
So ever since I was a teenager, maby
something like 11 years I´ve been getting
deja vu´s. When it starts, I can feel it
coming and my heart starts to beat faster
and a feeling rises from my stomach.
Everything I see seems so totally lived
before, although it´s not possible. It
lasts for a minute or two and after that a
bad nausea...quite often I throw up and
heart beat. After the attack I can´t
remember what I saw, it´s this surreal
feeling, almost gives pleasure when I see
deja vu.
Now because I´ve blocked it the last time
it´s been more than half a year since
last attack.
Funny thing is that I could stop it when
it starts but I don´t want to, it´s like
this being high experience when I see it.
Some times I just concentrate on some
other thing when it´s about to start and
then it´s gone.
These deja vus usually comes like if I see
one, then it´s many days or weeks I get
it, but then can be a long break. I can
interact when I am having one.
My father had deja vus when he was a kid,
but no nausea. Some far relative has had
epilepsy. I don´t remember if I´ve hit
my head or when exactly these started...my
memory also sucks!
And another thing that might have nothing
to do with this one.
When I go and party (drink alcohol) I tend
to fall asleep / sleepwalk even if I¨m
not too drunk, but with this happy drunk.
Once I left the bar and it¨s about
10minutes walk to the station, somehow I
WOKE UP walking this bridge I´ve never
seen before...so I actually woke up
walking in some place. I wasn¨t too
drunk, but everything was a blur after
leaving the bar. I have also many times
walked naked to our buildings general
hallway and then woke up for example in an
elevator...god knows if I had tried to go
to a toilet. Once drunk also I woke up
walking this street and thought that my
home is close, I asked a woman and she
told me I was in a different city that
where my home is!!!
I´ve read about simple partial seizures
and started to wonder if I might have one,
or am I just paranoid cause of the deja
vus? Tried to book a time to a doctor but
non-emergencies are to be booked only
after summer. I used to tell about these
deja vus and nausea to my doctors but they
didnt know or say anything. Until I
googled these things in english!
I really appreciate if you could answer
and if you had the time to read these
looooong story...please forgive my
grammar, I´m finnish.

I know this is an old post, but I
experience the EXACT same thing. I too
wonder if I suffer from TLS. Does anyone
know? katjamode: did you ever figure it
out? I'm seeking answers and can't find
them anywhere!
