Bleeding Heavy
Posted: 07-10-07 12:40pm

I had my meraina iud taken out after 2 years of being in and have been bleeding for over a week filling pads today again (after slowing for a day)in about 20 -40 mintues with clots as well and I have cramoing straight a cross lower ab and a sharp sharp pain on rt side low. I was told that bleeding is normal. But am wondering if it should be this long. I am starting to get light head from the loss of blood. Has this ever happened to any one? I am to scared to go back to hospital, as they released me last thursday. When they took out the iud they scartched my insides with a plastic speculum. I am very uncomfortable. I am on a very strong pain killer for my damaged neck 75 mcg of fentanyl so should not be feeling pain at all but am in exgtreem pain. any insite would be great.

If at any time you are filling more than 2 or 3 pads in an hour you need to go to a doctor, because this is too much bleeding and you may become severely anemic, faint, bleed to death, etc.

I think you are in great danger and need to get to a hospital, even the emergency room!

Does your doctor know how much you are currently bleeding? Also does she know you are feeling faint? You seriously might want to call her and tell her that. Its better to be safe than sorry....

yes my doctor does know how much I am bleeding but I am in kind of a pickle as they usually treat this kind of bleeding with hormone threapy and I have had a PE (clots in my lungs) so this kind of treatment is not safe for me. I did call my doctor today he told me to rest do not lift anything or do anything just relax. If bleeding same tomorrow call him in the AM and he will do surgery i think a dandc to try to stop bleeding. Has anyone ever had one of these? I have gone to the hospital last week for thiis and they released me even though I was still bleeding this way. I still have a great amount of pain as well.

I know it sounds bad to say this, but I hope that either the bleeding lessens or you get the surgery, I'm really frightened for you... Good luck.

thank you for caring it means a lot. As it stands right now looks like surgery in the morning but we will see. I will update you tomorrow. If I not in hospital again.
