Medical Abortion 2 Wks Ago...pos. Pregnancy Test! Posted: 07-11-07 09:10am
I had a medical abortion almost two weeks
ago, I HAVE NOT had sex since a week
before, and I took another pregnancy test
yesterday and it came out positive almost
immediately! Not sure what that means?
I'm pretty sure the abortion worked
because I have not had any more morning
sickness, etc and the experience was
extremely painful, i.e. cramps, bleeding,
clotting, tissue loss. I'm still spotting
a little bit. My boyfriend says it is
probably because some pregnancy hormones
stay in your system for a while. I'm
going to the clinic tomarrow, but I am
freaking out a little. I need advice,
please!

Don't panic! It can take a good month for
your hormone levels to get back to normal

I remember when I had a miscarriage about
a year ago, pregnancy tests would still
show a positive result, up to 3.5 weeks
afterwards. This included the blood
testing that they did at the hospital.
So, I am sure you have had your
appointment and have had your mind put to
ease, but I just wanted to let you know it
is common to have a false positive.
