I got the Depo shot in May and I have had
a period now for 32 days straight. Is this
a common side effect? Being on my period
for that long is driving me crazy! Should
I be worried?
because you have not had your period for
three months it is common to bleed for
awhile after just not soaking pads inless
than 1 hour. how long were you on depo?
they say the longer you were on it the
longer you blkeeding will be. if you are
worried go see you doctor you go to a
walk-in .

I just had the shot for the first time in
May. I had a period after that and it
stopped till June 10th. It started again
and I have had bleeding since then. I have
tried so many different birth controls. It
seems like nothing works for me.
have you tried an iud? that might help
especially with the bleeding. Have you
spoke to your doctor about all this. I
know sometimes it is hard to go to your
doctor but I really think you should there
are alot of bc's out there. I have to have
the IuD as I have had blood clots in my
lungs so i am very limited. Try asking the
pharmasist to recomend someting they have
a book there that they can look up side
effects how well it works and all that
kind of stuuf just need to ask them to
help you. Good luck sorry can not be of
more help.

Yes, strange bleeding is a common side
effect of Depo.

Yes, this kind of bleeding is not unnormal
for the depo. It effects everyone
different. Myself, on one hand, no real
side effects, no bleeding, i've been on it
for 2 years. A girl i work with on the
other hand - she got the shot and bled the
whole time. Obviously she didn't go back
for another shot. They tell you at the dr
office that it could go both ways. It just
depends on how your body reacts to it.
Don't worry - unfortunately you just have
to wait it out until the chemicals leave
your body.sorry.
