You dad may have a long time left. HIV is
no longer an immediate death sentence.
Many medications can be used to control it
and many people with HIV live longer than
expected. That's not to say it isn't a
serious disease because of course it is.
You can help by simply being who you
always have been. Don't treat him like a
fragile, breakable thing. He's the same
person he was before. HIV doesn't change a
person.
HIV won't necessarily develop into full
AIDS for many years.
