Technically you would be considered to be
4 weeks because they go by the first date
of your last period.
There is nothing to worry about, it is
good that you are able to get into a
doctor that early, most people have to
wait until much further in their pregnancy
to see a doctor

Yeah, my regular family doctor is setting
me up an appointment with an obgyn. She
said that my first ultrasound will not be
until 9-12 weeks. I was wondering she said
that I will not see the heartbeat until 12
so what will i see at nine?

you won't see anything at 4 weeks so
there's no point in having an u/s that
early. the earliest you'll see something
is probably a few days before 6 weeks.
to greeneyes, i don't know what your
doctor was talking about, but you can see
the heartbeat much sooner than 12 weeks. i
think it can be seen by u/s around 7
weeks? maybe your doctor meant you
wouldn't hear it with a doppler until 12
weeks, but even by doppler lots of people
hear the heartbeat sooner (i heard my
son's at 9 weeks).
good luck to both of you.

with my sister she had her first one at 5
weeks and you could not see anything but
the sac. When she went 2 wks later when
she was 7 wks you could actually see a
tiny baby!

i had to go for one at six weeks. it was
because i was having sharp, stabbing pains
on one side and they thought it might be
an ectopic pregnancy. it wasn't but there
wasn't very much to see. it just looked
like a microscopic shrimp on a string.
lol.

I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks and they
could not find even the sac. They werent
sure I was even pregnant except for the
fact that there was a lot of blood flow in
one little spot in my uterus. LOL
I had an ultrasound at 7 wks and was able
to see my little frog. I got to hear the
heartbeat at 14 weeks. Im sure I could
have heard the heartbeat sooner but thats
when my appt was. Well congrats and Im
glad things are going well.
The heartbeat is the coolest thing to!

I love pregnancy. The first half is
basically development (seeing a 'baby',
hearing the heartbeat, etc) and the second
half is just WAITING for it to be big
enough!!

Hey I just wanted to update! I am only 5
weeks today actually. They did an
ultrasound at the doc appointment, just to
see if I could hear the hearbeat( we
thought i was almost 7 accourding to my
period) but my period was off, and they
only saw a sac and a speck which is
apparently my baby lol. I go back on april
24 for the heart scan to see if I can see
the heartbeat. They said there is nothiong
to worry about, but I do because i though
i was further.
But im staying calm and hopin for a
heartbeat on the 24!..
