Unprotected gay oral
Posted: 05-07-08 19:26pm

Hello. Firstly I wanted to say that I had unprotected oral sex with another man and 2 days later I had a urine track infection (UTI). 2 weeks later I went and had an HIV test done and the test results came back negative (nonreactive). Then on the 3rd week I got a severe sore throat that lasted me 2 weeks and now I am fine and just with a runny nose.

I am scared that the test could have been wrong since it was only 2 weeks after receiving oral sex. I was told that the risk is so low so should I worry?

Were you giving or receiving oral sex? The person receiving oral sex is only coming into contact with the other person's saliva. The giver is coming in touch with pre-cum and possibly semen. This fliuds have enough HIV to cause infection.

The general oral health hygiene of the person giving oral sex is very important. If there are tiny cuts and tears in the mouth, this will cause infection to occur. It is recommended to wait at least an hour after brushing or flossing your mouth before a hot date. And don't eat sharp items like chips etc.

To have an accurate HIV blood test, you would have to wait three months from the supposed point of infection.

All the best

I was the one receiving the oral from another man. There was no sex involved at all. He was sucking me and I ejaculated into his mouth.

that is sex...oral sex. If there are even minute cuts in the mouth or penis then the HIV virus can be spread. Mson knows best, follow her advise to the T..Good Luck

This is what I read after you explained that you were the receiver.

"...Getting a blow job is considered a very low risk sexual activity. In general, if someone is getting a blow job and has no cuts, scratches or sores on his penis, the possibility of his being exposed to HIV is lower. If the man giving the blow job has good oral hygiene and his mouth is free of infection, then the inserter's penis is primarily being exposed only to saliva. Getting a blow job might also be safer than giving one because ejaculating might flush out the virus. Urinating and washing the penis also reduce the chances of HIV infection and of additional infection..."

My thoughts are that you should go see a doctor and explain everything. The UTI and all that you have suffered. Get tested for other STIs and have the patience to wait three months to get your accurate HIV test results. Then wait another three months and get tested again. That means that you will not put yourself at risk. It is tough.

Make sure to use protection from now on. That is something I was not told mbae anyone and so I might have infected people. Now that is dumb.

You are not dumb. You are the opposite of dumb. You are smart. You came here to find help. In 1993 when I was told in Kenya at age 24 that I had AIDS, I had no idea what the Internet was. I was ignorant. Not you my friend. Feeling dumb is not going to help you. You know you are smart. Act smart. Be smart. Don't let this bring you down. I never gave up life because of HIV. Bipolar is another story. I almost died.

Mental health is very important always but especially as you go through the waiting for tests and the waiting for the test results. I had never read that somewhere, nobody had ever told me that I need my mind. Having Bipolar taught me.

Homerx humbles me when he says I know best. I got interested with HIV/AIDS because I had it. If I did not have it, I would not be as deeply involved as I am today. There is still so much to learn but I do have the basics. Thanks Homerx:)

Just relaxing after work.

Thinking about you.

Always
Muthoni (Mson).

The Two Of You Humble Me

I woke up this morning thinking that you Mson, and you Homer both have the gifts of understanding, the gifts of inspiration and the gifts of motivation. Do you realize how much good you are doing on this our planet, the Earth?

I believe we come onto this Earth to experience love, sorrow, difficulties, challenges and best of all friendship and the shelter we find in kindness from one another. I bless you for what you have given to me and to so many others.

Keep up your wonderful and good work.

Bobbie

I have often wondered
Posted: 05-09-08 19:14pm

what is it that gives a person so much pleasure in giving oral pleasure to somebody they love? I believe that it is just being in love with them and wanting to fully love them. There is nothing in my mind wrong with the expression of love, oral sex or the sharing of ourselves with somebody we love. What could possibly be more intimate than oral sex? Kissing you can do to a friend. To be totally intimate, orally with a person, that to me speaks volumns about your willingness to be totally with them. You give up yourself to be with them. I personally liked it. My doctor told me that she loves oral sex too. So there have to be people out there who do!

Mson is right though. I had actually never experienced that kind of thing for many, many years and she is right. Maybe that put me at risk for being ignorant on the risks involved with brushing/flossing my teeth and possibly have small tears inside my mouth and having oral sex in a small amount of time. We live and we learn, I guess. Embarassed

Homer, too is here to tell us of the risks involved. I know for sure I came down with a really bad throat infection, my tongue was green after that encounter with my former BF. Crying
or Very sad I saw my doctor. She treated me.

Take care of yourselves. That is first and foremost. Mson and Homer are your guardian angels to remind you of that.

With love,

Bobbie yes yes yes yes yes
