I keep getting vaginal bacterial
infections. Could my partner just be
giving it back to me after I have it
cleared up. Do men get it also? Does he
need to take the medication also? (

i had it a while ago. they did not tell me
my boyfriend gave it to me or that he
needed to take a medicine. it can be
caused fromtoo much sex or not peeing
after sex becuase it is a build up of
bacteria. so, yes he could give it to you
again, but it is not like an std or
something

Absolutely he can be giving it to you. The
same goes for yeast infections. He may
need to go to the doctor and get checked.
Be sure to shower or bathe before sex. Use
care not to transfer bacteria from the
anal area to the vagina. Urinating after
intercourse can help rinse some of the
bacteria away.

Question regarding vaginal problem of 2weeks Posted: 06-04-08 20:35pm
I'm new here and I don't know how to start
a new topic.... so... here I am. I have
had Systemic Lupus for 32 years, so I have
been thru the mill.
My first husband gave me HPV and I have
systemic Herpes Zoster (shingles), so I
take Valtrex. Here is my problem... I
have had an ongoining vaginal infection
for about 2 weeks. It hurts and burns and
actually, I have pain in my abdomen.
I have discharge that is both white and
clumpy, and thin and clear. I was
recently diagnosed with a severe yeast
infection and put on 5 days of diflucan
along with the vaginal cream.
I am almost positive that my HPV (warts)
are actually back, as I have examined the
area and I see something that looks like
it. The nurse practioner who did the pap
smear did not say anything about them.
(she is not a gyno)
I am in such misery with this and I don't
know what to do. I am in constant pain
and it is also itching. I don't know what
to do? Any advice would be helpful!
Thasnks....
I hear you. I once, and only once, had a
really bad vaginal infection. Very bad
itching, redness, pain upon urination,
yellow stuff on my panties and even blood
which was inconceiveable to me as I had a
hysterectomy many years ago. This
happened when my former BF decided to
cheat on me with another person.
I called her up as he had honest to
goodness had the unmitagated gall to bring
her into my house, my space to introduce
us, "his two beautiful women." She gave
him a drop dead look.
Started thinking about it and decided to
call her up after I was diagnosed with HPV
with the high risk types. I am sure you
have heard the story. No, she is clean,
yes they use condoms, must be just me and
my problem. I, unfortunately, am not
walking down that path as I haven't seen
her medical records, nor had he.
I know about the warts. My doctor froze
one off and it has left a very ugly scar.
Oh, well. Never trust anyone to tell you
that they are clean and free and clear of
STD's. In the world in which we live,
protect yourself. You are the one who
will be living with it for the rest of
your life. I know that I am.
Good luck to you.

I just don't know what to do Posted: 06-04-08 21:01pm
I am just so miserable and I have not been
with anyone -- that is the thing, and the
last person I was with (several months
ago) did wear a condom. I just have a
predisposition to this type of thing
because of my weakened immune system.
I had them frozen off when my ex-husband
brought them home to me, but this was in
1989!! I appreciate your response.
smiles and best of luck,
~Paula

Dear Sweet Lady Posted: 06-04-08 21:37pm
The one thing that I have learned being on
eHealth Forum, firstly about even what HPV
was with the high risk types. When my
doctor called to tell me I came back
positive with HPV and the potential risk
of the development of cervical cancer, I
hit the proverbial brick wall. Because,
everybody in my father's side of the
family has died of cancer. She told me
she would send me to a GYN for further
testing.
I went through the whole yelling and
screaming bit with my former BF. I know
for a fact I was in a very long term
marriage and I never had any problems.
Then my husband died and I just got too
lonely even knowing this would end up in
the trainwreak that it became, I finally
caved in and was with him.
Everything was fine until that infection
and he finally admitted he had been with
that other woman.
We haven't been together for a long time
but I did develop a genital wart which
looked like a califlower shaped thing on
my upper thigh. My doctor froze it off.
I know what you are saying about Lupis. I
never felt I had any issues with my health
until 15 years ago when I was exposed to
mold in my new air conditioning system of
a car we had bought. It was a black car
and had sat in the sun until we purchased
it at year's end. I would see white
flakes coming out of that air conditioning
system.
I became tired, weak and eventually sent
to a doctor who said I had asthma. He put
me on steroids for a year. I lost 40
pounds and became so weak I could not sit
up.
I told my doctor to please send me to a
doctor who could help me. He sent me to
Dr. Wolfe who saved my life. He put me on
a breathing machine and predisone. I
asked him to please help me because my
husband loved me. Do the best you can.
He sent me to the hospital for 6 weeks
every day for them to pound on my lungs to
get the mucus out. Painful. I slowly
made it back.
Perhaps that is why my immune system is
compromised, too. The kind doctor on
eHealth Forum said that maybe the others
were able to battle this off, but I could
not.
We have to look at the bright side Paula.
We are here. God loves us. We live.
Take care of yourself,
Bobbie
