I wouldn't.
I would just take the medication, make
sure you are clear, and not have sex until
you are all cleared up. If you do that,
you should be fine.
Because infections impact men differently
(are more external than internal, more
located in the urinary tract than
reproductive tract) I wouldn't share
medication unless he saw a doc and the doc
suggested it.
I've had recurring gardnerella infections
(Bacterial Vaginitis) for two years and
finally found a doctor who cured me. She
gave me and my partner 1 mega-dose of
flagyl (we both took 4-500 mg pills at one
time. She told me this 2 gram flagyll
treatment is the newest protocol for
treating BV gardnerella and it worked. The
smell is gone and the pills had no side
effects on either of us. One caveat--you
can't drink alcohol for 24 hours after
taking flagyll or you'll get really sick.
Although treating the male is considered
"controversial" the fact is that the
bacteria will colonize in the urethra of
the man. So you need to knock it out of
him too or he'll keep reinfecting you.
